Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Junior Crystal Bradford has broken yet another Mid-American Conference record.
Bradford was named the MAC West Player of the Week for the seventh time this season Monday, the league office announced. The seven Player of the Week honors are a single-season conference record, while this extends Bradford's career record to 14.
The junior continued to rack up double-doubles last week, bringing her league-best total to 18. Bradford capped the week with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists as the Chippewas clinched their first Mid-American Conference West title in program history. She hit 9-of-19 shots from the floor and a career-high 10 free throws in the contest. Bradford posted her 17th double-double of the season on Wednesday at Bowling Green, scoring 14 points and pulling down 14 rebounds .
Bradford has now pulled down at least 14 boards in 10 contests this season and has posted five-straight double-doubles.
The Detroit, Mich., product ranks first in conference play in rebounds (12.9) and steals (2.9), third in scoring (19.2), assists (5.4) and blocks (1.6) and is sixth in assist/turnover ratio (1.4). She also ranks 11th in three-point field goals per game (1.6) and is eighth in minutes played (33.3).
The MAC West champs will continue their quest for an outright regular-season conference title Thursday night when they host Ball State at 7 p.m. on Time Warner Cable Sports.
