Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Central Michigan junior Jas'Mine Bracey was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week Monday, the league office announced.
Bracey posted a pair of double-doubles to lead the Chippewas to a pair of victories over Eastern Michigan and Ohio as the Maroon and Gold remained perfect in MAC play. The junior forward set new career highs with 25 points and 16 rebounds in a 82-67 win over Eastern Michigan to start the week before posting game highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds in an 80-63 win over Ohio Sunday afternoon.
A native of Saginaw, Mich., Bracey avered 21.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per game while shooting 76 percent (19-for-25) from the floor. She has recorded eight double-doubles this season and is now just one of three players averaging double figures in scoring and rebounding during MAC play.
This is the first MAC West Player of the Week honor of her career.
The Chippewas will look to continue their winning ways Thursday evening when they travel to Muncie, Ind., to take on West Division foe Ball State at 7.
