CMU Hoops Quick Hitters

• CMU has won five straight and eight of the last nine meetings versus Northern Illinois.

• Crystal Bradford scored 27 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead CMU to a 65-60 win in the first meeting Jan. 15.

• CMU is just one win shy of clinching its first MAC West title in program history. The Chippewas have a four-game lead in the West over second-place Toledo.

• The Chippewas’ final five games of the regular season will be against MAC West foes.

Beyond the Arc
Senior Niki DiGuilio is the program leader with 273 career three-point field goals and is now just eight triples shy of setting the CMU single season record set by Angel Chan (2008-09). Chan made 92 that season and DiGuilio is already second on the single-season list with 85 this season.

One and Only
Junior Crystal Bradford is the only player in the country currently leading her team in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks per game.

Taming the Huskies
CMU leads the all time series versus the Huskies, 24-21, thanks in part to a five-game winning streak over NIU and wins in eight of the last nine meetings. The Chippewas are looking for their third-straight sweep with a win Saturday night.

Winning Streak Snapped
The Chippewas suffered their first MAC loss of the season Wednesday night, snapping their 12-game winning streak. CMU’s 12-game winning streak was the second longest in program history behind only a 26-game streak during the 1983-84 season in which the Maroon and Gold went a perfect 18-0 in conference play.

Chasing 1,000
Junior Jessica Green needs just 23 points to become the fourth player this season to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Green currently has 977 career points and should she reach 1,000 career points, CMU would become just the 11th program in NCAA history to feature four 1,000-point

The MAC West is Ours
In addition to leading the MAC West by four games over Toledo, Central Michigan has claimed eight of the last nine MAC West Player of the Week Awards. In addition to six by Bradford, senior Niki DiGuilio and juniors Jessica Green and Jas’Mine Bracey have each earned the award during the stretch.

The Crystal Bradford Award
Junior Crystal Bradford matched the single-season MAC record with her sixth Player of the Week honor last while setting the record for most by a player in a career with her 13th.

Bradford Named to Watch List
The Detroit, Mich., product was one of 16 guards named to the Dawn Staley Award Watch List. The award is given to the top guard in the country that best exemplifies the career of Staley. Skylar Diggans of Notre Dame won the inaugural award last season.

Bradford Does It Again
Junior Crystal Bradford recorded her second triple-double of the season at Ball State with 26 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Bradford is the first player in MAC history with multiple triple-doubles in a season and just the 39th player in NCAA history to accomplish the feat.

More on Bradford’s Triple-Double Accolades
• First player in MAC history with multiple triple-doubles in a career
• One of just three players in the country this season with multiple triple-doubles
• Fifth triple-double in program history, tying CMU for fourth all-time in NCAA history

Welcome to the Club
Senior Taylor Johnson became the third player this season to join Central Michigan’s 1,000-point club, joining senior Niki DiGuilio and junior Crystal Bradford. This marks the first time in program history that the CMU lineup has featured three 1,000-point scorers in the same season.

Three-Point Streaks to Watch
The Chippewas have made at least one three-point field goal in all 216 games coached under head coach Sue Guevara. DiGuilio also enters Saturday’s game with streak of 30 consecutive games with at least one made shot from behind the arc.

None Tougher
No team in the country played a non-conference schedule as tough as Central Michigan according to the Jeff Sagarin/CBN Women’s College Basketball Rankings. CMU played three top-25 opponents, while 10 of its’ 12 games were against 2013 postseason teams.
