Game Notes: Central Michigan Comes Home Against Miami (Ohio)

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan is back home Saturday night to faceoff against Miami (Ohio) as MAC cross-over play continues. The Chippewas will look to rebound after dropping their third straight game Wednesday night. 

Central Michigan (9-11, 2-5 MAC) are 18-47 all-time against the Redhawks (7-12, 2-5 MAC), dating back to 1973. Miami (Ohio) has won the previous three meetings, and 12 of the last 13. The Chippewas' most recent victory against the Redhawks came in 2009, defeating Miami (Ohio) 57-55 at the Rose Center. 

Senior Kyle Randall has recorded 20 plus points in seven games this season, most recently scoring 23 points at Buffalo on January 30th. His team-high 16.7 points per game ranks him third in the Mid-American Conference. 

The Chippewas are 1-1 against MAC East Division opponents this year, defeating Bowling Green 73-67, and falling at Buffalo, 73-91.

At 5.1 assists per game and 101 on the season, Chris Fowler is nearing CMU's freshman assists record of 115.

Wednesday's game was just the Chippewas' fourth loss when shooting 40% from the floor. They are 7-4 when hitting at least .400.

A recent emphasis on pressure defense has turned into the season's top two steals totals in the last two games as the Chippewas grabbed 12 against Northern Illinois and 11 at Buffalo to boost their conference average to 8.3 per game (3rd in the league).
