MOUNT PLEASANT -- When Central Michigan hosts Michigan State on Wednesday in the Clash at Comerica, senior infielder Robbie Harman will have a unique opportunity very few athletes are afforded.

Harman, in his fourth season on the diamond and a four-year letterwinner with the CMU basketball team, will be playing in his third professional sport venue as a collegiate athlete.

"It's something special," Harman said. "I've played in two different NBA arenas and now I get to play at Comerica Park."

As a member of the basketball team, Harman played in both the Quicken Loans Arena during the Mid-American Conference tournament runs, as well as The Palace of Auburn Hills against Robert Morris on Dec. 20, 2008.

"Not many people get this type of opportunity,” Harman said. “I've been blessed to have the people around me to be able to do it and have such a unique experience.”

Harman and the rest of his teammates are excited about playing the first collegiate baseball game at Comerica Park.

"I think it's good for both us and Michigan State to create history," he said. "Everyone is excited. We'll just try to take it all in and have a good time while you're here."

Harman, who owns the career and single-season three-pointers made record on the hardwood and led the nation in made threes per game as a senior in 2009-10, earned second-team All-MAC honors and helped the Chippewas to back-to-back MAC West Division championships. He started 42 games at shortstop on the 2010 MAC championship baseball team that reached the MAC Tournament championship game as well.

In high school, Harman earned all-state honors in high school basketball, baseball and football. At the collegiate level, he has knocked down game-winning shots, dots the record books of the men’s basketball program, and has come up with clutch hits throughout his baseball career, including an RBI single on Sunday to help the Maroon and Gold knock off a Kent State team that was receiving votes in several polls and owns the 25th best RPI in the nation.

But Wednesday will hold a special place in Harman’s career.

"This is something that I'll always be able to tell people about," he said. "It's something I'll remember forever."
