Men's Basketball Signs Luke Meyer to National Letter-of-Intent

“We are thrilled to be able to add Luke Meyer to our program,” Davis said. “Luke is a very talented young man driven to succeed both on the court and in the classroom.”
Meyer is a 6-10, 205 forward who plays for Addison High School. He earned Class C first team all-state honors from the Associated Press and the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan as a junior last year, averaging 18.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.0 blocks. Meyer turned down interest from 25 different schools including Texas A&M, Wisconsin and Iowa.
The Addison, Mich., native was also named to the Jackson Citizen Patriot Dream Team and was the Adrian Daily Telegram Player of the Year for the 2012-13 season. He was selected for the Detroit Free Press Class C All-State second team in 2013 and earned all-conference honors in 2012 and 2013. As a sophomore in 2011-12, he averaged 13.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.2 blocks per game in 21 contests.
Meyer is a three-year letterwinner in basketball and track & field. He was the 2013 Division 4 state champion in the high jump with a mark of 6-8 after finishing third in 2012. He was named to the Jackson Citizen Patriot track & field dream team in 2012 and 2013.
Meyer is currently a member of the Dorian’s Pride AAU squad coached by Paul Carmona Jr. His parents are Rick and Nikki Meyer. He currently has a 4.2 grade-point average and is considering a major in mechanical engineering.
