MOUNT PLEASANT -- Seven Central Michigan volleyball players will be part of the largest-ever single tryout for the United States Women's National Volleyball Team held Feb. 19-21 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

Athletes are competing for spots on the U.S. Women's Volleyball National Team and the U.S. Women's Senior A2 teams.

"We feel we have pretty talented group of athletes on our roster," head coach Erik Olson said. "This will be an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes to have another facet of the championship experience by competing against some of the nation’s best talent."

It's the second straight season a group of CMU athletes will participate in the tryouts. Former Chippewas Whitney Evers and Stephanie Budde along with 2008 Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year Kaitlyn Schultz attended the national tryouts in 2009.
