Alison Baker joined the Central Michigan volleyball coaching staff in the fall of 2008 as an assistant coach after graduating from CMU in the spring of 2008.
The former Chippewa standout transferred to Central from Kellogg Community College, where she earned NJCAA All-America and Academic All-America honors as a freshman in 2004. In 2005, she was honored with the Kellogg CC Female Athlete of the Year award. As a Chippewa, she earned Academic All-MAC and CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades in 2006.
“Alison will greatly contribute to our program, having been a successful former player,” head coach Erik Olson said. “She knows how we want to get things done.”
In addition to her playing career, Baker was CMU’s undergraduate assistant coach in the fall of 2007 and also was a camp instructor at Central’s summer volleyball camps in 2006 and 2007. Her duties will include coordinating team travel, assisting in player development, recruiting and scouting opponents. She will also run the scout team in scrimmages.
