MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Kaitlyn Schultz was named Collegiate Volleyball Update's (CVU.com) Player of the Week for Nov. 14 through Nov. 21.
Schultz had 44 total kills while hitting .462 in the Mid-American Conference Tournament, in which she led her team to its first ever MAC Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament berth. She was also named to the All-MAC Tournament team and awarded Tournament MVP.
The 6-4 middle blocker from Highland, Mich. currently has a season hitting percentage of .410 which places her second on CMU's season records. She is currently ninth on the all-time kills list with 1,155 and tied for fifth on the all-time block assists list with 317.
The Chippewas will compete in California this weekend when they face off with Long Beach State on Friday and UC-Irvine on Saturday. Both matches will be at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.
