Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Central Michigan was unable to keep up with Mid-American Conference leader Ball State Friday night, falling in straight sets, 25-16, 25-14, 25-12.
The Cardinals (21-5, 9-2 MAC) held the Chippewas (11-12, 5-6) to just .154 hitting on the night, leading from start to finish in all three sets.
Senior Katie Schuette led the Chippewas with 10 kills on the night, finishing with a .556 hitting percentage. The Maroon and Gold held a 7.5-4 advantage in blocks with sophomore Angelique White led the Chippewas with four blocks.
The Chippewas were unable to slow down the Cardinals' offense as the Red and White hit .354 on the night and were led by Lauren Grant's 11 kills. Kylee Baker gave the Cardinals two players in double digits with 10 kills.
CMU will look to move back to .500 tomorrow afternoon when they take on Toledo at 3 p.m. The Chippewas swept the Rockets to open MAC play on Friday, Sept. 27, 25-23, 25-15, 30-28).
