Jacobs Earns Second MAC West Player of the Week Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT — Central Michigan redshirt freshman Neal Jacobs has been named the Mid-American Conference West Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

Jacobs was on fire at the plate last week, batting .563 (9-for-16) with five runs scored and four RBI in the Chippewas’ four games versus Oakland and Ball State, leading the Chippewas to a 3-1 record. More importantly, Jacobs batted .615 (8-for-13) in CMU’s series at Ball State, recording at least two hits in all three games and stealing a pair of bases.

The Avon, Ohio native had a RBI in three of the four games and hit his team-best fourth home run of the season on Saturday versus the Cardinals.
