Throwers Shine in First Outdoor Meet

TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Central Michigan Track and Field team sent four of its throwers down to the University of South Florida for the USF Open this weekend, and they did not disappoint. All finished first or second.

In their first collegiate meet freshmen Cole Walderzak and Brandon McCleese took second in their respective events. Walderzak threw a mark of 164-01 in the men's hammer throw and a mark of 152-06  in the discus, while McCleese threw a mark of 159-06 in the men's javelin.

On the women's side, sophomore Milica Kulidzan and freshman Kyleigh Young finished first and second in the javelin. Kulidzan threw for 138-00, while Young threw for 135-11.

The rest of the Chippewa squad heads to the University of South Florida next weekend.
