JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Central Michigan completed its competition at the NCAA Championships East Preliminaries at the University of North Florida on Saturday.

Senior Josh Kettlewell, the school record holder and the 2012 indoor Mid-American Conference champion in the heptathlon, finished 27th in the pole vault with a mark of 16-05.5. After clearing the opening height of 15-11.75 and then 16-05.5 in one attempt each, he could not overcome the 16-11.5 mark that followed.

Junior Alex Rose finished 44th with a distance of 48-04.75 in the shot put, his second event of the weekend.

The Chippewas will send two student-athletes – freshman Milica Kulidzan in the women's javelin and senior Ryan McCullough in the hammer throw – to the NCAA National Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, beginning June 6.

Kulidzan set a new school record in the javelin with a mark of 154-10 en route to a sixth-place finish on Thursday, while McCullough finished 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 207-03 on Friday.
