MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Central Michigan track and field team is set to host its lone home meet of both the indoor and outdoor season on Friday at the Jack Skoog Open in the Indoor Athletic Complex.
Alma, Cornerstone, Northwood (throwers), Oakland and Saginaw Valley State will be competing against the Chippewas.
The field events will start at 4 p.m. with running events following around 6 p.m.
“This is a process, this isn’t the destination,” director of track and field Mark Guthrie said. “As a staff and as a head coach, our goal for them is to be better on this date than you were a year ago on this date, that’s the measuring tool.”
The Chippewas have the duration of the indoor season to qualify for the MAC Indoor Championships which is held Feb. 28-March 1 in Kent, Ohio.
The Jack Skoog Open also marks senior night for those Chippewas who will be finishing up their eligibility this year.
Admission is $5.00 to the public and students can enter for free by showing their student ID.
