MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan junior Mary Alice Moore has been named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday morning.
Moore was a scoring machine for the Chippewas in their opening weekend, tallying four goals to help the Maroon and Gold get off to a perfect start with wins over Robert Morris and Saint Louis. Moore scored the Chippewas’ first goal of the season in the their 2-0 victory over Robert Morris before recording her first career hat trick in a 6-1 victory over Saint Louis Sunday. All five of her shots on the weekend were on goal and both goals were the eventual game winners.
The player of the week award is the first of Moore’s career.
CMU will be back in action this weekend at Delaware on Friday, Sept. 6 at 3 p.m. before playing a neutral site contest versus Lafayette at Drexel University on Saturday, Sept. 7 at noon.
