Scouting the Cardinals
The Cardinals are 14-15 and 4-5 in the MAC this season after suffering a 7-5 loss to Bowling Green in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon. Sean Godfrey leads the way at the plate with a .325 batting average, 13 extra-base hits and 21 RBI, while Scott Baker is an undefeated 7-0 with a 2.06 ERA on the mound in 52.1 innings pitched.

The Ace
Sophomore Jordan Foley has become the latest ace in the pitching rich program at CMU. Foley enters Friday's start at Ball State ranked ninth in the country in ERA (0.82), 14th in strikeouts (63), 28th in strikeouts per nine innings (10.37), 37th in hits allowed per nine innings (5.93) and 48th in victories(5). He was named the MAC West Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season following a career-high 12 strikeouts last Friday versus Northern Illinois and has not given up more than one earned run in any of his eight starts this season.

Run, Run, Run
Central Michigan has proven to be one of the fastest teams in the country on the base paths this season as they rank 27th in the country with 59 steals. Freshman Logan Regnier leads the Chippewas with 17 stolen bases, ranking 19th among Division I players.

The Chippewas’ speed has helped translate into extra-base hits resulting in 14 triples which ranks 17th in the country. Regnier has five himself and ranks third in the country, while sophomore Pat MacKenzie’s three triples is good for 56th.

Strike Em’ Out
In large part to sophomores Jordan Foley (10.37 SO/9 inn.) and Matt Trowbridge (14.57 SO/9 inn.), the Chippewas are among the nation’s leaders in strikeouts per nine innings. CMU currently ranks 16th in the country with 8.6 punch outs per nine innings pitched.

Put on Your Walking Shoes
Sophomore Pat MacKenzie will do just about anything to get on base and despite hitting .255 through the first 30 games he is reaching base at a clip of .449. MacKenzie has drawn a MAC-best 29 base on balls in 2013, ranking 16th in the country.
