    J.T. Jones joined the Central Michigan baseball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2008.
    He spent one season as an undergraduate assistant with the program in 2006.
    A four-year letterman at CMU (2003-06), Jones ranks first all-time at CMU in at-bats, second in runs, tied for third in hits, fifth in games played, sixth in walks, and ninth in runs batted in.  Jones was an Academic All-District IV first team honoree in 2006 and three-time Academic All-MAC selection.
    During his career, he was a starter on teams that claimed a Mid-American Conference championship in 2004, MAC West Division titles in 2004 and 2006, and advanced to the championship round of the MAC Tournament in 2005.
    He graduated from Ithaca High School in Ithaca, Michigan, where he earned a total of 14 varsity letters and was an all-league selection in football, basketball, baseball, and golf.
    Jones will primarily work with the team’s outfielders.
