MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan field hockey team will begin its quest for its first Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship since 2005 this Friday against Kent State at 2:30 p.m. in Oxford, Ohio, as the third seed in the MAC Tournament.
The Chippewas (7-11, 3-2 MAC) will face the second-seeded Golden Flashes (8-12, 4-1 MAC), against whom they fell in double overtime, 1-0, in the MAC regular season finale on Saturday.
With a win, the Chippewas would advance to the MAC Championship game Saturday at 1 p.m. against the winner of the Miami (OH) and Ohio semifinal Friday at noon. See the full bracket in the "Quick Links" box at the top of the article.
The winner of the MAC Tournament will advance to an NCAA Tournament play-in game against the winner of the Nor Pac conference. The game would be held Tuesday, Nov. 6.
