An outstanding Chippewa baseball player who earned first-team all-Mid-American Conference honors for three straight seasons, from 1973-1975... led the MAC in batting in 1973 and 1974 and served as team captain in 1975... started his collegiate career in 1973 with a hit in 17 straight games... earned honorable mention All-America status in 1973 and 1974, and played for the gold-medal winning USA baseball team at the World Games in 1973... left Central with career records for hits, doubles, home runs, extra base hits, total bases and batting average, and was second in RBI... played three seasons in the Detroit Tigers organization... remained active in baseball as a youth coach... a product of Mount Pleasant High School.
