CMU Hoops Quick Hitters

• CMU has won 11 straight for just the third time in program history.

Crystal Bradford earned her 13th career MAC West POW honor Monday, setting a new conference record.

• The Chippewas have won two straight over Miami and four of the last five meetings.

Kerby Tamm led CMU with 19 points versus Buffalo Sunday, hitting at least two three-point field goals for the 13th time this season.

The Crystal Bradford Award
Junior Crystal Bradford matched the single-season MAC record with her sixth Player of the Week honor while setting the record for most by a player in a career with her 13th. Bradford averaged 22.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 8.5 assists in CMU’s two wins over Ball State and Buffalo last week.

Bradford Named to Watch List
The Detroit, Mich., product was one of 16 guards named to the Dawn Staley Award Watch List. The award is given to the top guard in the country that best exemplifies the career of Staley. Skylar Diggans of Notre Dame won the inaugural award last season.

Bracey on the Block
Junior Jas’Mine Bracey has posted a double-double in each of the last five games and is now just one of two players in the conference averaging double figures scoring and rebounding. Bracey was named MAC West Player of the Week on Feb. 3 after averaging 21.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in CMU’s two wins over Eastern Michigan and Ohio.

Bradford Does It Again
Bradford recorded her second triple-double of the season at Ball State with 26 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Bradford is the first player in MAC history with multiple triple-doubles in a season and just the 39th player in NCAA history to accomplish the feat.

More on Bradford’s Triple-Double Accolades
• First player in MAC history with multiple triple-doubles in a career
• One of just three players in the country this season with multiple triple-doubles
• Fifth triple-double in program history, tying CMU for fourth all-time in NCAA history

Chasing 1,000
Junior Jessica Green is on pace to score her 1,000th career point this season, needing to average just 5.1 points per game over CMU’s final nine guaranteed games. CMU would be just the 10th program in NCAA history to have four different 1,000-point scorers on the same roster should Green accomplish the feat.

30 Years Later
CMU is off to its first 11-0 start in MAC play since the Chippewas went a perfect 18-0 during the 1983-84 season. The 11-game winning streak is also the longest since the same season when the Chippewas won a program-record 26 games.

Triple Tamm Time
Junior cracked CMU’s top 10 list for career three-point field goals last week and now ranks ninth all time with 110 triples. Tamm has hit at least two triples in 13 contests this season, including five in the Chippewas’ win over Buffalo last Sunday.

They Did What?
Central Michigan matched a program record last Saturday when it scored 68 points in the first half at Western Michigan. The Chippewas went on to eclipse the century mark for the third time this season, matching the third most points in program history with their 113-87 victory.

Welcome to the Club
Senior Taylor Johnson became the third player this season to join Central Michigan’s 1,000-point club, joining senior Niki DiGuilio and junior Crystal Bradford. This marks the first time in program history that the CMU lineup has featured three 1,000-point scorers in the same season.

Three-Point Streaks to Watch
The Chippewas have made at least one three-point field goal in all 214 games coached under head coach Sue Guevara. DiGuilio also enters Saturday’s game with streak of 28 consecutive games with at least one made shot from behind the arc.

None Tougher
No team in the country played a non-conference schedule as tough as Central Michigan according to the Jeff Sagarin/CBN Women’s College Basketball Rankings. CMU played three top-25 opponents, while 10 of its’ 12 games were against 2013 postseason teams.

Chippewas Tabbed Favorites
Central Michigan was a unanimous choice to win the Mid-American Conference West title and received nine of 12 votes to repeat at the MAC Tournament by the coaches in the leagues’ preseason poll. CMU returns 10 letterwinners and three starters from last season’s MAC Tourney championship squad.
