Fagan Honored as MAC Specialist of the Week
MOUNT PLEASANT – Sophomore Kylie Fagan has been named MAC Specialist of the Week in recognition of her standout performance in No. 21 Central Michigan’s victory at the Illinois-Michigan Challenge last weekend. For Fagan, the conference award is the second of her career after she received mention in 2012 for her showing in a win over Bowling Green.

Fagan captured titles in both of the events in which she competed, helping CMU set a season high score of 195.875 in wins over Illinois State, Eastern Michigan, and Illinois-Chicago. Fagan captured the uneven bars outright, topping the field with a score of 9.850 for her third title win in the event this season. She followed it up with another standout performance, establishing a new career high in the balance beam, tying for the title with a score of 9.875.

Fagan has served as the anchor of the CMU line-up in the uneven bars and balance beam this season. She has recorded top three finishes in the uneven bars in four of five meets this season and owns the team’s top two scores in the event. Fagan also has two top two finishes to her credit in the balance beam.

This week, Central Michigan returns to McGuirk Arena for the first time in three weeks for the showcase home event of the 2013 season.
