MOUNT PLEASANT - Coming off a season-best performance, the Central Michigan gymnastics program heads to DeKalb, Ill., Saturday looking to claim its third-straight Mid-American Conference Championships title.

The Chippewas (15-6) finished the regular season a perfect 6-0 versus MAC opponents to claim their second-straight regular season title outright and will be looking to build upon their 195.525 score from last Saturday's meet versus Western Michigan.

Senior Kristin Teubner enters the meet as the reigning MAC beam, floor and all-around champion and will look to repeat her performance from a year ago in her final MAC Championships. Sophomore Brittany Petzold is also a defending champion in the meet after claiming the uneven bars title last season.

Saturday's championship meet will begin at 3 p.m. EST. Tickets are $10 for adults/$5 for youth and seniors and $5 for students of participating institutions with a student ID. Parking at the Convocation Center is $5. Information is also available on the Gymnastics Championship page at MAC-sports.com.

28 and Counting
With their win over Western Michigan last Saturday, the Chippewas extended to 28 their streak of consecutive wins over MAC opponents. CMU has reeled off 16-straight regular season victories and claimed 12 postseason wins in the process of claiming the last two MAC Championships. If CMU clinches their third-straight MAC Championships crown this Saturday, it would enter 2012-13 with a 34-win streak over MAC foes.

Three in the 39's
Central Michigan had three all-arounders with scores of 39-plus last Saturday at Western Michigan for the first time this season. Teubner paced the way with a 39.225, while Petzold scored a 39.100 for second place. Freshman of the Year candidate Halle Moraw accomplished the feat for the first time in her career, scoring a 9.7 or better in each event for a 39.050.

MAC Powerhouse
The Maroon and Gold lead the conference all-time with 12 titles, one ahead of rival Kent State. The two teams have combined to claim the last four MAC Championships and seven of the last nine. The Golden Flashes were picked to win the MAC Championships in the MAC Coaches Preseason Poll in January, while the Chippewas were picked to finish second.
