Seven-time Pro Bowler Lomas Brown spoke to the Chippewas after Thursday's practice.

MOUNT PLEASANT - News and notes from the final full week of spring football practice at Central Michigan University:

Lomas Brown Visits Practice: Seven-time NFL Pro Bowler and former Detroit Lions first-round draft pick stopped by CMU's practice Thursday morning. Brown watched the Chippewas' workout, then spoke to the team following practice. Brown was the Detroit Lions' left tackle for 11 seasons. He was part of Tampa Bay's Super Bowl championship team in 2002, the final season of his 18-year NFL career.

Huge Show Live from the IAC: The Huge Show will broadcast live from the Indoor Athletic Complex from 3-6 p.m. Friday. Head coach Butch Jones will join the program at 5:05 p.m., Dan LeFevour and Nick Bellore are scheduled for 5:25 p.m. and Director of Athletics Dave Heeke will be on at 5:45 p.m. Friday's show marks the ninth time the statewide radio show has originated from the CMU football office complex.

Jones also will join David "Mad Dog" DeMarco on WVFN-AM 730 at 8:05 a.m. Friday.

Switching the Schedule: CMU will return to the practice field next Tuesday morning for the 15th and final practice of the spring. The workout replaces a practice that was canceled earlier in the spring.

Spring Game Format: Saturday's spring game will feature an offense-versus-defense format and utilize a modified scoring system. The situational scrimmage will place the ball in various down-and-distance situations and field positions. Individual and group drills also will be part of the scrimmage.

Fans are reminded that the spring football game and all the events surrounding it are free.
