MOUNT PLEASANT – Central Michigan football fans braved the cold and rainy weather to make their way to a bowl kickoff event hosted by the Chippewas on Thursday night at Wayside Central.
Fans had an opportunity to visit with CMU's players and coaches, get autographs, and take photos.
In conjunction with the event, play-by-play voice Don Chiodo and former quarterback Brian Brunner were joined on-air by coaches and players in front of a live audience for the Fabiano Brothers CMU Bowl Preview Radio Show.
The Chippewas are preparing for the December 26 Little Caesars Bowl versus Western Kentucky. The game, CMU’s fifth bowl appearance in the last seven years, is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Ford Field in Detroit and will be broadcast to a national television audience on ESPN.
Due to fans' continued response to the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl ticket sales, Central Michigan University's Ticket Central has secured an additional allotment of tickets and extended its on-line sales through December 25. CMU's pregame reception has been sold to its capacity.
Tickets for the December 26 game are being sold through Ticket Central–at the window and over the phone–through the end of the week but on-line sales will now continue through Christmas Day. Orders placed on-line after Friday will be available for pickup at Will Call (Gate C) on game day.
The CMU Road to the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl is presented by Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.
