Antonio Brown was a third team selection as a kick returner, while quarterback Dan LeFevour, receiver Bryan Anderson and left tackle Andrew Hartline were named to the honorable mention squad.

LeFevour also is ranked 14th on’s list of the top 20 preseason Heisman Trophy candidates.

Brown was named Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year in 2007 after catching a school-record 102 passes and accounting for a Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) record 2,267 all-purpose yards. He was a consensus Freshman All-America selection last season.

LeFevour was the MAC Offensive Player of the Year last season. He passed for 3,652 yards and 27 touchdowns and ran for 1,122 yards and 19 scores, becoming just the second player in FBS history to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 in the same season (Vince Young, Texas, 2005). LeFevour enters his junior season already holding CMU career records for passing yards (6,683), completions (602), touchdown passes (53) and total offense (8,326).

Anderson caught 90 passes for 1,132 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2007. He set a single-season school record for touchdown catches, while his reception and yardage totals rank second and third, respectively, in school history. Anderson was an All-MAC second team honoree last season.

Hartline has started 39 consecutive games on the offensive line. He earned All-MAC second team accolades as a left tackle in 2007 after starting every game at right guard in 2005 and 2006.

CMU opens the 2008 season Thursday, Aug. 28 at home against Eastern Illinois.
