Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Central Michigan junior Crystal Bradford has been named the Mid-American Conference West Player of the Week for the third time this season, the league office announced Monday.
Bradford recorded a pair of double-doubles in the Chippewas’ two contests, including a huge 24 points and 13 rebounds in CMU’s Mid-American Conference opening 84-71 win over Toledo Saturday afternoon. After scoring just two points in the first half in which CMU trailed by a pair, Bradford scored 22 points and hit 9-of-12 second-half shots to lead CMU to a double-digit victory. She also pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and dished out five assists to lead the Chippewas to their second-straight win over the Rockets.
The Detroit native also scored 24 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and blocked five shots earlier in the week as the Chippewas’ closed conference play.
The junior has posted a double-double in six of her last seven game and seven times this season and has scored at least 20 points in seven different times.
CMU is back in action Thursday evening when it hits the road to take on Akron at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable Sports.
