Chippewas Will Take on Kent State and Michigan This Weekend 

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team hits the road again facing Kent State in a Mid-American Conference match-up on Friday, October 12 at 12 p.m. and No. 18 Michigan in a non-conference contest on Saturday, October 13 at 1 p.m.

• The Maroon and Gold enter the weekend 4-6 overall with a 1-0 MAC record. Junior Cayleigh Immelman scored the game-winning goal against Ball State on Saturday, October 5 in a 1-0 conference-opening victory.

• CMU goalkeeper Sadie Reynolds continues to stay on top in the MAC with a goals against average of 2.02 and save percentage of .775. Reynolds currently is 15th in the nation in save percentage and 17th with 6.90 saves per game.

• The Chippewas rank third in the MAC with 2.77 assists per game and a 1.68 scoring average. Kaysie Gregory is tied for fourth in assists with a total of four, averaging .40 a game.

Mary Alice Moore continues to lead the conference in game-winning goals with two with Gregory and Immelman tied for fourth with one.

• Kent State won its conference opener against Missouri State 5-2 but lost its match to No. 10 Northwestern 3-1. The Golden Flashes are currently 5-8 and 1-0 in MAC play with a scoring average of 3.30.

•  The Golden Flashes hold first in three categories in the MAC – including scoring average, shots per game with 20.62, and penalty corners with 123. Kent’s Julia Hofmann leads the MAC with eight goals, 21 points and 68 shots (4.85 avg. per game).

• Michigan has a 7-5 record, including a 1-1 mark in Big Ten play. The Maize and Blue claimed a pair of contests last weekend against No. 15 Iowa, 3-2, and Ball State, 10-2.

• In the national rankings, the Wolverines are tenth in points per game with 9.08 and eighth in scoring average with 3.33 goals per game. Michigan’s Racheal Mack is second in the nation with 1.17 goals per game and 2.75 point per game.

• The Maroon and Gold will continue MAC play facing Ohio on Saturday, October 19 at 12 p.m.
