The Series
Central Michigan will look to protect its slim lead in the all time series versus the Golden Flashes, entering the weekend with a 53-49 record dating back to 1973. Kent State took three of four games versus the Chippewas, including a 3-1 victory in the MAC Championship at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio.

Big Cat's Big Day
Senior designated hitter Jordan Adams helped the Chippewas clinch their series versus Eastern Michigan last Sunday with a career-high five RBI. Adams belted a three-run bomb for his fifth home run of the season and drove in another pair of runs with a single to finish 2-for-5 in the contest.

Leichman Heating Up
Sophomore first baseman Cody Leichman has found his groove from the left side of the plate, batting .615 over the weekend versus Eastern Michigan to improve his batting average to .313 on the season. Leichman became the first player since 2009 to record five hits in a contest, going a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate in last Saturday's 10-1 win over the Eagles. Leichman is batting .412 (14-for-34) with seven RBI over CMU's last 10 games.

Fresh Delivery
Taylor Lehnert, a freshman right handed pitcher from Schererville, Ind., threw his first career complete game last Saturday in leading the Chippewas past Eastern Michigan, 10-1. Lehnert gave up just five hits and one run in the contest, striking out five Eagles.

Another Hot Finish?
The Chippewas find themselves in a very similar situation to a year ago, entering the seventh weekend of MAC play with a sub .500 record. Last season, CMU went on to finish the MAC season with eight wins in their final nine games to claim the No. 3 seed in the tournament.

MAC Standings
With just eight teams qualifying for the MAC Tournament in Avon, Ohio May 22-25, Central Michigan will need to finish strong. CMU currently sits in a four-way tie for seventh in the MAC with Bowling Green, Toledo and Ball at 8-10 in conference play. Buffalo leads the MAC with a 13-4 record, while Northern Illinois is five games in front of CMU in the MAC West with a 13-5 mark.
