Postgame Notes vs. Bowling Green

Central Michigan advanced to the MAC Tournament semifinal versus No. 1 seed Toledo tomorrow at noon. The two teams split their regular-season meetings with the Chippewas claiming a 73-66 win at Toledo on Jan. 10 and the Rockets winning in Mount Pleasant Feb. 24, 76-63.

The Chippewas have eliminated Bowling Green in each of the last two MAC Tournaments after claiming a 69-66 victory in the semifinals last season.

Sophomore Crystal Bradford finished with a game-high 23 points and four steals, marking the 10th time this season she has scored at least 20 points.

Bradford finished 9-for-20 from the field and is now tied for sixth in the CMU single-season record book with 189 made field goals this season.

Seniors Brandie Baker and Jessica Schroll each knocked down two threes in the game after neither had made more than one in a contest all season.

Baker finished with 14 points and moved into 11th place in program history with 1,249 career points.

During its 32-3 run in the first half, CMU limited Bowling Green without a field goal attempts for stretches of 2:16 and 3:34 . The first came from the 12:47 to 10:31 mark and the second from 8:44 to 5:10.

CMU forced a season-high 34 turnovers and came away with 22 steals - tied for the third most in a single game in program history (22 vs. Dayton, 1/13/88). Three different players had a team-high four steals - Bradford, Olive and Johnson - in the contest.

The Chippewas made 10 treys in a contest for the 41st time under head coach Sue Guevara and improved to 28-13 when doing so.

Bowling Green's 48 points marked the third time this season that CMU held its opponent under 50. The Chippewas also improved to a perfect 12-0 this season when holding opponents under 60.
