MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan football will return to action on Tuesday when the Chippewas take the field at 7 a.m. for the first of 15 spring practices. The season will culminate with the annual Spring Game, which is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kick off on Saturday, April 13 at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
CMU is coming off seven-win season, which was capped off by a victory in the Little Caesars Bowl. Twenty-six players that have starting experience return to lead Central Michigan in 2013. Included in that group are All-MAC performers Zurlon Tipton and Titus Davis, the team’s leading rusher and receiver a year ago, and CMU’s top two tacklers in linebackers Justin Cherocci and Shamari Benton.
As has become tradition, the Central Michigan football team will host a free youth clinic for children 12 years of age or younger prior to the Spring Game. The clinic will last from 11-11:45 a.m., with registration beginning at 10 a.m. CMU players will be available for autographs from 10:30-11 a.m.
