Also a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree, Wilson holds a 3.66 grade point average in marketing. In 2011, he earned Capital One Academic All-America® Second Team honors.
Wilson has established himself as one of the greatest receivers in program history during his time in Mount Pleasant. With 211 receptions and 2,533 receiving yards for his career, he ranks third and fifth, respectively, in the CMU record book. This season, Wilson, a team co-captain, leads the Chippewas with 55 receptions and ranks eighth in the MAC in receptions per game (6.1) and 10th in receiving yards per game (71.6). With four, Wilson is tied for tops in the conference in 100-yard receiving games. Versus Ball State, in addition to tying his season-high single-game receiving total with 111 yards, the Rochester Hills, Mich. native caught a career-best two touchdowns.
Testament to his consistency and reliability, Wilson has caught at least one pass in 38 consecutive games, the third longest active streak in the nation.
Wilson is also a versatile player, returning punts and serving as the holder on extra points and field goals for CMU.
Wilson and the Chippewas travel for the first time in more than a month this weekend, visiting rival Eastern Michigan (1-8, 0-5 MAC) for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti.
