The 2013 MAC Field Hockey Championships will take place Nov. 8-9 at Miami University. CMU earned the No. 4 seed and will play No. 1 seed Kent State Friday at 11:30 a.m.
Seedings Announced for MAC Field Hockey Championships

Mount Pleasant, Mich. — Central Michigan will be the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Field Hockey Tournament hosted by Miami this weekend. 

The Chippewas, RedHawks and Ohio Bobcats all finished with an identical 3-2 record in conference play, but the Maroon and Gold slipped to the No. 4 seed through tiebreakers. CMU will take on regular season champion and No. 1 seed Kent State Friday at 11:30 a.m. 

The No. 2 Bobcats and No. 3 RedHawks will play at 2 p.m. Friday.

The MAC championship match will be held Saturday afternoon at 2. 

CMU dropped a back-and-forth affair to Kent State in overtime on Oct. 12, 3-2. The Chippewas took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Abby Roth and after two-straight goals by the Golden Flashes, tied the match with just 30 seconds in regulation on a goal by Kaysie Gregory. Kent scored the game-winner just 1:06 into overtime to edge CMU. 

The Chippewas are seeking their third MAC Tournament title in program history and first since 2005.
