MOUNT PLEASANT — Central Michigan junior Parker Scott has been named the Mid-American Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week for the first time of his career, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
Scott, a Fenton, Mich., native, won the 400m hurdles at the Lyle Bennett Open with a qualifying time of 52.71, a personal best. This time gave Scott the second fastest time in the MAC, and 38th in the East Regional. Scott also ran the opening leg of the men's 4x400 relay for the Chippewas, which placed second with a time of 3:15.85.
Scott joins senior Renaldo Powell as the two Chippewas to be honored by the MAC so far this season.
