MOUNT PLEASANT – The Central Michigan Track and Field and Cross Country program is excited to announce the signing of 19 promising student-athletes who will become part of the Chippewas' championship culture for the 2012-13 academic year.

“We are excited about this new class of student-athletes coming in next year," director of track and field and cross country Willie Randolph said. "Our men's team this year has a lot of maturity and a lot of youth. Adding in some of these pieces of the puzzle is going to make us even stronger.

"We are also very excited about the balanced attack we will have with the women's team. We will continue to grow as a team as these new student-athletes with immediate-impact capabilities take us to another level.”

The recruiting class currently includes 12 additions to the women's track and field and cross country teams, and seven additions to the men's teams. Randolph expects to continue adding strong student-athletes to the program throughout the duration of the spring season.
