Chippewas Earn All-Academic Recognition from USTFCCCA
MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan's women's cross country program has earned All-Academic recognition from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

CMU was one of 205 institutions representing 30 conferences to earn All-Academic honors.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.

The Chippewas boasted a combined 3.56 GPA, tied with Miami for the top mark in the Mid-American Conference and tied for 29th nationally.

CMU finished second out of 12 teams at the 2011 Mid-American Conference Championships and placed eighth out of 33 teams at the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals.
