CMU hosts five games in Kelly/Shorts Stadium in 2013. The Chippewas open at home on Saturday, Sept. 7 versus non-conference foe New Hampshire while the home MAC opener is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21 against Toledo. The annual Homecoming game, set for Saturday, Oct. 19, will feature a match-up with defending MAC champion and Orange Bowl participant Northern Illinois. The Chippewas will finish out the 2013 regular season in Mount Pleasant, hosting MAC opponents UMass (Nov. 23) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 29) in back-to-back weeks.
Central Michigan returns a core group of key players that will lead the Chippewas in 2013. Included in that group is All-MAC performers Zurlon Tipton and Titus Davis, the team’s leading rusher and receiver a year ago, and CMU’s top two tacklers in linebackers Justin Cherocci and Shamari Benton. In February, CMU bolstered its roster by adding a second consecutive highly ranked recruiting class.
