Scott Mattingly Earns Third Career Academic All-MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT — Central Michigan junior Scott Mattingly has been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, the league office announced Wednesday morning.

Mattingly earns Academic All-MAC honors for the third time in his career and is just one of three members on the squad this year that has earned the award more than twice.

A native of Uniontown, Ohio, Mattingly went 20-13 overall at 141 pounds during the 2012-13 season and finished fourth at the MAC Championships. His five falls were the most of any CMU wrestler, which included back-to-back pins over Seth Schaner of Eastern Michigan and Peter Russo of Stanford in consecutive weeks.

Mattingly has earned a 3.45 grade point average as an advertising major.
