An superb outfielder for the Central Michigan baseball team from 1987-90, Denny was a first-team All-America and the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year in 1990... twice a first-team All-MAC choice and once an academic All-MAC pick... ranked among the top all-time Chippewas in all 22 offensive categories... his 28-game hitting streak was the longest in program history and he ranked sixth in career hits (194), fifth in home runs (31), fifth in RBI (122), seventh in batting average (.375), second in slugging percentage (.652), and third in total bases (337)... a product of Toledo, Ohio, he prepped at St. Francis High School.
