An outstanding left-handed pitcher for the Chippewas, Curt was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 1981 and pitched professionally for 13 seasons... posted a major league mark of 69-53 with a 4.30 ERA... was the lone left-handed starter for the two-time World Champion Athletics in the 1980s... won 13 games in 1986 and 1987 for the A's, and was the opening-day pitcher in 1987... played for Kansas City and the New York Yankees before finishing his career in Oakland... later served as pitching coach for the A's...came to CMU as a football player... posted a 13-5 record in two baseball seasons with the Chippewas, earning second-team and first-team All-Mid-American Conference laurels in 1980 and 1981... a product of Saginaw Arthur Hill.
