MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Central Michigan men and women's cross country program has earned All-Academic recognition from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Chippewas were among 217 women’s programs and 160 men’s programs to earn All-Academic honors. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better.
On the women’s side, the Chippewas boasted a combined 3.45 GPA and were one of eight Mid-American teams to win the award. This is the second consecutive year the women’s squad was recognized.
The women finished third at the MAC Championships this past fall, while finishing ninth at the Great Lakes Regional.
The men’s team earned a combined GPA of 3.26 and were among six MAC institutions to be recognized.
The men also finished third at the MAC Championships and 18th at the Great Lakes Regional.
