MOUNT PLEASANT - Both the women's and men's cross country teams are ranked in the top ten of the Great Lakes Region in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association polls released Monday morning.

Despite an impressive ninth-place showing at the Pre-National meet in Terre Haute Sunday morning, the women's team is ranked ninth for the third consecutive week. Following a 17th place finish in Terre Haute, the men jumped up to 10th after not being ranked in the region since Sept. 26.

The men possess the second-highest ranking of any MAC team in the region, trailing seventh-ranked Eastern Michigan. The women are ranked third amongst MAC teams in the region, behind sixth-ranked Toledo and eighth-ranked Miami.

Central Michigan cross country is next in action Saturday, Oct. 29, at the MAC Championship Meet in Muncie, Ind.
