Wrestling Championship Fund

Championships are the standard for Chippewa Wrestling. Qualifying 10 individuals to the NCAA Championships, 11 MAC championships and nine straight MAC Tournament Championships are a direct result of the financial commitments that our former letter winners, parents, fans and friends make to our Chippewa Club and Championship Fund accounts.
This team has national championship expectations, and I firmly believe that we have never been closer to accomplishing this goal. In order to do so, we need to expand on the financial resources available to our program, and we need your help.
Below are three objectives that will contribute to achieving our goal of a team national championship. I hope you will take a moment to review this material and seriously consider contributing to our Championship Culture. Every penny of every gift goes directly to Chippewa Wrestling, and a gift of any size will get us one step closer to a national championship.

 Completed Championship Fund Initiatives
All wrestling championship fund initiatives are annual. The fundraising goals for the following initiatives were achieved for the past fiscal year.

  • Funding for a second assistant coach
  • Wrestling Room Signage and Décor
  • Maintenance of Exercise Equipment and Mats

Current Championship Fund Initiatives

Equipment Maintenance

To ensure a safe training environment for our student-athletes as well as a championship environment that will help them to flourish, the general upkeep of the exercise equipment and mats is essential to taking the next step toward the coveted national title.

Annual Cost: $5,000-$10,000

Second Full-Time Assistant Coach

The addition of a second full-time assistant coach will bring us closer to the staffing models of the top programs in the country.  This position would allow us to become more efficient as a program and improve the individual instruction that our wrestlers receive on a daily basis.

It gives us one more teacher on the mat, one more role model on a daily basis, one more liaison to build and strengthen relationships and one more Chippewa working tirelessly everyday to bring home a national title.

Annual Cost: $50,000

New Signage and Decor/Locker Room Upgrades

Through new signage and décor in the wrestling room and updates to our locker room, our facilities will emulate the championship level of our program. We aim to make our locker room into an inviting space where our student athletes can unwind after a long day on the mat or in the classroom. We also want to display the history of our program through various pictures and plaques that capture the true essence of CMU Wrestling. The Chippewa décor will inspire current athletes and entice recruits to want to become a part of our rich history, which includes past Olympians, national champions, all-Americans, and conference champions.

One-Time Cost: $10,000
Annual Cost: $2,000
