MOUNT PLEASANT- The Central Michigan women’s track and field team will travel to Columbus, Ohio this weekend for the two day Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by Ohio State University.
With just two meets left before the Mid-American Conference Championships the Chippewas look to keep improving their marks at their next two meets, something head coach
Karen Lutzke thinks is imperative.
“This meet is just another preparation opportunity for the MAC meet,” Lutzke said. “We hope our athletes peak at the MAC, so for this meet we just hope to improve in all areas and really make sure we are ready.”
After spending last weekend split between Oregon and Hillsdale the maroon and gold are looking forward to coming together as a team again and getting things done.
“We are really excited about competing with our team all together again,” Lutke said. “This is going to be a great meet and another good opportunity for us to improve.”
The Jesse Owens Classic will begin Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
