Mount Pleasant, Mich. - Central Michigan junior Jordan Foley has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Foley threw an impressive seven innings in a win over Troy on Friday afternoon, striking out a season-high eight batters while allowing just two hits and one run. Foley's lone run came on a solo home run by the Trojans, but he proceeded to retire the next 11 batters he faced.
A native of The Colony, Texas, Foley allowed just four base runners and had a WHIP of 0.57 in the contest, evening his record at 1-1 on the season.
Foley and the Chippewas will be back in action Friday, Feb. 28 when they open the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla., against Boston College.
