Chippewas Set to Compete at Notre Dame, Findlay

MOUNT PLEASANT - This weekend the Central Michigan track and field squad will be sending athletes to the University of Notre Dame to take part in the Meyo Invitational on Friday and Saturday.  

The throwing corps will be heading to the University of Findlay for the Findlay Open on Friday.

"We are looking for more personal improvements this weekend," director of track and field, Willie Randolph said.

The Meyo Invitational will start at 4 p.m. on Friday and continue at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Throwing events at the Findlay Open will start at 2 p.m.

The Chippewas will be sending athletes that are looking to claim qualifying times for the MAC Indoor Championship meet. 

Last weekend the Chippewas had five athletes qualify. Senior Alex Rose qualified in shot put with a throw of 16.99m, junior Ryan Brooks qualified in the 60m dash with a time of 6.91, sophomore Kyle Stacks qualified for the 3000m run with a time of 8:18.81 and sophomore Ethan Lievense qualified in the mile with a time of 4:10.03.

"Around the board we are seeing things come together towards our total package for the MAC Championships, but we need to stay focused and get things done."
