Game Notes: Central Michigan Looks To Bounce Back Against Ball State, Northern Illinois

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan looks to continue its home court advantage against Mid-American Conference opponents Ball State and Northern Illinois. The Chippewas are 4-1 inside McGuirk Arena, and have seen an increase in attendance by 400 fans per game compared to last season. 

The Chippewas (8-8, 1-2) are 30-58 all-time against the Cardinals (7-8, 1-2), dating back to 1947. Ball State has won the previous five meetings, and has never lost at McGuirk Arena. 

Central Michigan trails the all-time series against Northern Illinois (3-12, 1-2), 46-51. The Chippewas have won 11 of the last 13 meetings, including six consecutive home games against the Huskies. 

Senior forward Olivier Mbaigoto has stepped up his play, recording Central Michigan's first double-double of the season at Eastern Michigan earlier this week. Mbaigoto scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against the Eagles. He his averaging 11.2 points and 8.9 rebounds over the past five games.
