Marching Band Championship Fund

The Chippewa Marching Band relies on so many people for its continued excellence and success – coaches, players, parents, alumni, students and friends – we are proud to be part of the CMU community and to carry the Chippewa name.

No group of supporters is more valuable to us than the fans in the stands! For eighty-seven years we have made it our number one priority to entertain the Chippewa Faithful while firing them up in support of our football team. Your support of our program through the Marching Band Championship Fund will go a long way toward supporting our efforts.

In 2009 our trombone section had the benefit of professional quality instruments and the entire band traveled with the team to East Lansing when the Chippewas met the Spartans. Both initiatives were made possible through contributions to the  our championship fund.

Championship Fund gifts can be added to Chippewa Club membership donations to upgrade your club membership level. Chippewa Champions must be members of the Chippewa Club to receive benefits.

Donors will receive university receipts for their gift(s).

Pledges can be made for multiple years.

Student Recognition

Funding would ensure complete sponsorship of our annual awards banquet, which is our single opportunity to give recognition to our student leaders and scholarship winners for all their hard work each year.

Annual Cost: $6,000

New Trumpets

Professional quality trumpets give a great boost to the sound of the NCAA's best-known bands. Such instruments will give our students the opportunity to provide an even larger and more majestic sound to our shows.

One-Time Cost: $50,000

Professional Development

Annual meetings of the National Collegiate Marching and Athletic Band Directors and other professional conferences provide our staff the opportunity to stay abreast of current issues and trends and to participate with colleagues from across the NCAA in developing programs that ensure the vitality of our program and the health and safety of our students.

Annual Cost: $3,000
