Second Student Ticket Pick-Up Event Hosted at MAC Tournament Match

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Mid-American Conference tournament opens up with first round action for the No. 6 seed Central Michigan against the No. 11 seed Miami at Finch Fieldhouse on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Chippewas (14-14, 8-8 MAC) enter the postseason coming off a huge come-from-behind victory over No. 4 seed Northern Illinois and have won seven of their last 10 matches. The RedHawks (10-19, 5-11 MAC) dropped three of their last four matches during league play.

CMU is led by senior Lauren Krupsky (3.34 kills/set) and junior Kaitlyn Schultz (2.77 kills/set, .352) offensively and senior Lisa Johnson (3.17 digs/set) defensively.

Senior Michele Metzler (2.57 kills/set, .327) and junior Amy Raseman (2.45 kills/set) pace the MU offense while Lisa Treadway (3.04 digs/set) guides the defense.

The Maroon and Gold beat the Red and White, 3-0, at Finch Fieldhouse earlier this season in the only meeting between the two programs. Krupsky finished with 15 kills and hit .480 and Schultz added 13 kills with a .520 hitting percentage for the Chippewas. Colleen Loftus and Jenn Caylor paced the RedHawks with nine points each.
