Noonan Selected MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan gymnast Taylor Noonan rack up another honor this week as she was named the Mid-American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.

Noonan is a biology major with a 3.62 grade point average. She is the second female student-athlete from CMU to earn the honor this season as Niki DiGuilio of the women's basketball team received it on Dec. 4.

Noonan matched her career high to take first place on the beam Saturday with a 9.925. The score helped the Chippewas score a season-high 49.050 on the event en route to posting their fourth-highest score in program history with a 196.600 overall. The Chippewas defeated Eastern Michigan, Illinois State and Illinois-Chicago in the quad to improve to 7-0 this season, while moving up to No. 19 in the country.
