Cold Weather Cuts Tournament Short

Bloomington, Ind.- Game five of the Hoosier Classic for Central Michigan against Wright State was cancelled this morning due to cold temperatures and snow. The Chippewas (12-10) finished the tournament 2-2, with wins over Michigan State and Wright Sate.

Senior pitcher Kara Dornbos went 1-0 on two starts over the weekend. She gave up two earned runs in 12.1 innings of work. After a shutout against the Spartans, Dornbos has moved into a tie for eighth in program history with 17 career shutouts.

Sophomore Carol Ann Sexauer led the Central Michigan at the plate, hitting .417 over the four game span and recording three RBIs, bringing her season total to a team-high 17. Senior Summer Knoop is second on the team with 15 RBIs, two coming against University of Illinois-Chicago on Friday, March 15.

The Chippewas will be back in action on March 27 for a double header at IPFW. Central Michigan will be looking for redemption after dropping an extra innings contest to the Mastodons earlier this season at the USF Under Armour Tournament, 10-6.
